SCOUTPCX BSADSK00 -- Introduction to the BSADSK Clip Art Files Uploaded 25 October 94 Minor revisions 15 November 95 This file is a rough description of the BSADSK01 thru 18 files. Each file represents a single [360K 5.25 inch] floppy disk that originated from the National BSA published series of clipart diskettes. [These files have been UUENCODED for electronic transmission to the variety of computers on the network (BITNET and InterNet). You must read the file SCOUTPCX INSTRUCT for further information on how to access these files. Files BSADSK01 thru 08 represent Phase I while files BSADSK09 through 18 represent the more recent Phase II. Using the SCOUTPCX Disk Images 1.1 Downloading and Decompressing the BSADSK Files The files located on the Listserver are uuencoded PKZip archives of the original disk images. Depending on your mail system, you may or may not have to uudecode the downloaded files. For DOS, the best application choice is UDEC.EXE (udec1_0.zip) by Peter Liebel (liebel@cip.informatik.uni-wuerzburg.de). This universal decoding program handles UUENCODE, XXENCODE, MPACK(MIME), SHIP and HEXBIN files. For Windows, the decoder of choice is WINCODE (wmcode26.zip) by George.Silva@wadsworth.org which handles UUENCODE, XXENCODE, MPACK(MIME), and HEXBIN. Both programs are FREEWARE and are available at most archive sites. After you uudecode the mail messages, you will have the PKZip archive files which are the DD disk images. To unzip these files, PKZip is the archiver of choice, and version 2.04g is the latest. It is free for personal use and is available at almost any ftp site as pkz204g.exe. Registration gets you the added multiple disk compression and auto validation functions. The following is an index of the files contained on each disk. This index is important since file names are only numbers (i.e., no meaning).
